I bought this awning as I was impressed by the sales pitch and the concept is fantastic, and just what we were looking for with a young family.

That is where the good ends. The build and quality of product is way lacking the relatively high end price.

We bought the awning and a sleeping annex together, and on first look all seemed good, but after the first use for 4 days on a sheltered, windless campsite we found the following problems:

1. The brass eyelets in the mud skirt pulled out and ripped the skirt on all sides.

2. The poles 'grew' together with corrosion in that short period

3. The tunnel is in fact NOT big enough to open a bay, T4/5 sliding door into, if you want to not have the door poking out one end, or a hole at the other to let the rain in.

4. The pegs are made of toffee, so had to be replaced before we even had the awning up once.

5. The zip stitching started to pull undone as the pole straps under the floor were way too long.

We returned the awning for a replacement, but even after waiting for the next seasons model that we were assured would have all these faults sorted, it came out with none even looked at.

Even after long discussions about the Pro kampers failings the manufacturer still felt no need to review the design so the 2011 model came with all the same 'issues'!

Not a good buy, If you want cheap, there is better for half the price on the market.

Manufacturer's Description

What we have created is a campervan awning with the larger 3 metre square footprint. The rear system is adjustable from 180 cm to 230cm (ideal for VW transporter, splitties, Bays Type 25’s and Mazda Bongo size vehicles as well as Peugeot Boxer, Fiat Ducato or Transit vans conversions). The rear system is also wide enough to open sliding side doors into whilst remaining undercover. The whole awning is very compact and very versatile. Like the The Movelite Pro XL, the The Movelite Pro XL Kamper has an extremely easy to erect design. It has a zip front door with two full side doors. The ground sheet is also included and it comes complete with pegs and guyline. By purchasing the optional inner tent, the Movelite Pro XL Kamper can also be used as a sleeping tent for the holiday guests. The Movelite Pro XL Kamper can be used as a drive away awning with our optional fixing kit (see Drive away kit section of the Website for more details) or through the use of the unique strap system which comes as standard on the Movelite Pro XL Kamper.
The Movelite Pro XL Kamper fits into a handy compact valise for easy storage.
